Our ethos is to truly get to know our clients, forming the relationships needed to create compelling tender submissions and embed winning bid strategies

We work across multiple sectors, to include extensive experience in healthcare, social care and other specialist sector procurement such as education and debt recovery.  Irresepctive of opportunity, every bid we write is synonymous with best-practice methodology from insight gained from 1000’s of cycles of learning. Krisja Low
Owner of K Low Consulting

K Low Consulting was founded by Krisja Low in 2018. Krisja has led the strategy development and management of over 500 public sector bids across all sectors, principally within healthcare and social care. These range from specialist framework applications through to large integrated community health service of £500M+, covering 40 different clinical pathways. As a result, those clients have secured over £2Bn in contract value, at an annual win rate of 88%-91%. He leads our governance, developing our future business plans, identifying growth opportunities and new ways of working.

With one very creative parent who is an expert in human behaviour, the other a computer programmer / accountant, I guess I’m a solid all-rounder. I’ve always been fascinated by how things work, problem solving, and embarrassingly competitive!

K Low Consulting was set up to deliver personalised, high-quality bid and contract consultancy services, in partnership with clients with similar values and views. Disillusioned by the conveyor-belt approaches adopted by the industry, the aim was to work closely and flexibly with a small client base of good providers who we enjoyed working with. In that aim I’m proud that we have been successful. We have a mutual respect and passion with each client and their services. They value and recognise the hard work, thinking and headspace, that each bid costs

With a Masters in International Relations, the ability to speak Japanese (albeit badly these days), and a bang average tennis game, it seemed the natural step was to end up as…err.. a Bid Director! More seriously, the skills gained through these experiences, and the roles they have led me into (B2B sales, Performance and Programme Management, Local Authority Commissioning, Charity Business Development Manager) enable me to act as an expert partner for organisations wishing to understand and grow through tender opportunities.

In terms of my approach and ethos, I am a great believer that the best tenders are won by empowering organisations to understand the competitive nature of bidding and, by association, the need to be ‘outstanding’ not just ‘good’. With this in place, we can then collectively drive into the track record and unique strengths held, using these insights to shape compelling, evidence-based content– the key qualities found in any winning bid.      

Experienced Associates

Katie
Associate

Katie is an experienced and highly efficient project manager. She first became involved in competitive tendering in the IT industry, working on multi-million-pound bids in the rail and services sectors. More recently, Katie has helped dozens of charities and social enterprises to think strategically, plan projects and raise funds, working as a consultant and in a voluntary capacity as a trustee and director.

Part of the K Low Consulting Associates team since 2019, Katie has worked with clients in the education, health and social care sectors, contributing to many successful tenders. She engages with clients’ objectives and values, working collaboratively with them to maximise their chances of success. Her excellent research and writing skills enable her to convey complex information in a succinct, clear way, and she’s committed to adding value and delivering the best possible proposition for our clients.

Katie is also an award-winning sports historian with articles published in magazines and online. She is a trustee of two charities related to sports history.

Tom
Associate

A Former senior Public Health Bid Writer at Turning Point, one of the UK’s largest not-for-profit Health and Social Care providers, following three years as a Director of a local authority-commissioned substance misuse service. Tom uses this experience to support innovative SMEs and Third Sector organisations working with people with additional and complex needs to develop and grow. He currently sits on the Advisory Board of the Ethical Marketing Campaign for Addiction Treatment (EMCAT).

Tom spent the first 20 years of his career as a local newspaper reporter and freelance journalist bringing this professional background as a writer to developing clear and compelling bid content for clients.

Mark
Associate

Mark is a highly experienced, commercially focused, public procurement specialist with a wealth of experience project managing, writing, and evaluating tender submissions.  He has written and overseen successful bids into a range of sectors from domestic social care, supported living, extra care, NHS including outsourcing and medical practice, through to Local Authority maintenance and facilities management plus large scale (£900 million plus) MOD contracts for ship maintenance and facilities management at sensitive sites.

With a diverse commercial background extending from construction materials sales, assistive listening devices for the Deaf community, to entrepreneurial activity including starting his own business; achieving over a million pounds of turnover within three years before profitably exiting.  This allowed Mark return to full time education gaining a place to read history at the University of Cambridge where he gained Bachelor of Arts and Masters degrees whilst resident at Hughes Hall.  Following this, Mark worked in the public sector at Greater Cambridge and Greater Peterborough Enterprise Partnership with responsibility for developing skills and business growth strategy and policy locally, responsible for commissioning contracts of up to £35 million and working with Government Ministers in areas such as Apprenticeship Standards and providing a voice for business in Parliament.

When not helping business win contracts, Mark plays the guitar in a working band and produces and mixes his own and others music in his home studio.  He can also be found fixing motorbikes and ‘entertaining’ his two English Springer Spaniels.
